While we seem to be still in the depths of what feels like the longest winter ever I can’t help but think about spring coming just around the corner! With spring comes the return of summer sports and that includes BMX racing for some.
One of the great things Pemberton has to offer is the outstanding BMX track directly in the middle of our amazing town. A true family affair, the track was started in 2012 by husband and wife duo Graham and Jessica Turner along with Steve Petrie. Pemberton BMX is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and continues to grow and improve each year. With their vision to “create a track that provides all levels of riders the freedom to have fun, to explore and to push boundaries” it gives Pemberton a wonderful opportunity for our kids (and adults too!)
The first race of the season is the Season Opener on Thursday, April 27th. Club racing takes place every Thursday night with registration from 5pm to 6pm and racing starting shortly after registration has closed. Racing continues through the summer with the final race of the season being October 5th.
A fundraiser will be held on April 1st 7:30-11:00pm at the Mount Currie Coffee Company so please come out, enjoy $4 beers and support our local BMX community.
